MSU holds off Minnesota
The Michigan State Spartans defeated the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Wednesday night, 60-53.
A close game throughout, Michigan State managed to pull away in the final minutes with clutch defensive turnovers by Draymond Green. The Spartans (14-3) only shot 36% from the field and struggled from the free-throw line (62%).
Minnesota (12-5) struggled to stop the Spartans down the stretch and only managed to force eight turnovers despite leading the Big Ten in turnovers forced.
Draymond Green had eight points, three blocks, four steals and five rebounds while Kalin Lucas led the Spartans with 14 points. Lawrence Westbrook led all scorers with 15 points for the Gophers.
Michigan State will play Illinois at home this Saturday.
