Spartans hold off Iowa

Michigan State held off Iowa on Wednesday night, beating the Hawkeyes 70-63.
The Spartans (16-3) held a firm 12-point led at halftime, but Iowa managed to battle back late in the second half with seven three-pointers. Michigan State held off Iowa in the final minutes with clutch defensive stops and key free throws.
Matt Gatens led all scorers with 17 points for Iowa (7-12). Raymar Morgan led Michigan State with 16 points. Draymond Green added seven points and 11 rebounds. The Spartans had 24 team assists while out-rebounding Iowa 33-27.
Michigan State will play at Minnesota this Saturday.
