MSU beats Northwestern


Michigan State defeated Northwestern on Saturday night, 79-70.

This was the second match-up between the two teams this year and the Spartans managed to dominate once again.

Kalin Lucas had 23 points while Durrell Summers added a team-high 24 along with 10 rebounds. John Shurna led all scorers with 31 points for the Wildcats (14-7).

Michigan State shot 52% from the field and out-rebounded the Wildcats 35-24. Raymar Morgan was held scoreless in 16 minutes while Draymond Green scored nine points and added 11 rebounds and four assists.

Michigan State (19-3) is now 9-0 in Big Ten play and will look to remain perfect against Wisconsin this upcoming Tuesday. The game will be played at the Kohl Center in Madison.

The Badgers are 6-3 in conference play and are tied for second-place with Purdue.
